The US 21 Road Market runs the last full weekend of July, stretching more than 100 miles up US Highway 21 from Harmony in the North Carolina Piedmont, through Jonesville, Elkin, and Sparta, then across the state line to Independence and Wytheville, Virginia. Three days of sidewalk sales, yard sales, and town-square setups strung along one old highway as it climbs out of the Yadkin Valley and up into the Blue Ridge.

Founded in 2014 by D.W. Miles and organized through the "Take A Break From the Interstate" council, the Road Market is a towns-only event — each community sets up its own sales along the route, so there is no single seller registry. Two spots draw the densest clusters year to year: the Standard Street and Business Hwy 21 corner in downtown Elkin, and the Higgins Fairgrounds just north of Sparta, NC. The town markers on the map above anchor where you are most likely to find sellers as you work north.
