The Mt. Pleasant City-Wide Garage Sales are a town-wide stretch when dozens of households across Mount Pleasant, Iowa hold sales at the same time. September 2026 is the window — and unlike a one-weekend citywide, sellers here pick their own days inside it, so there are sales to hit on weekdays and weekends alike across the run. The event is organized through KILJ Radio and its Root & Pixel garage-sale guide, where residents register their address for free to be listed on the official map.
Mount Pleasant sits in Henry County in southeastern Iowa (ZIP 52641), at the crossroads of US-34 and US-218 about 30 miles southwest of Iowa City. It's a settled county-seat town of family homes and long-time residents, the kind of place a town-wide clear-out turns up antiques, collectibles, vintage toys and trains, tools, furniture, kids' and baby gear, kitchenware, and Americana. Because the sales are spread over almost two weeks, the mix keeps changing — many sellers add new items throughout the run.
New sales register on the official map right up through the event, so the list grows day by day. Every registered sale populates here on MapMySales too, with the days and hours each one is open and what they're putting out. Browse the full list free, then map the smartest driving order for the days you're out and drive it — so a two-week window becomes an efficient loop instead of a scavenger hunt across town.
