The US Highway 36 Treasure Hunt is a 400-mile yard sale that runs the full width of northern Kansas every September, following US-36 from Elwood on the Missouri River in the east all the way to Saint Francis near the Colorado line in the west. Dozens of towns across thirteen counties take part — Marysville, Belleville, Smith Center, Phillipsburg, Seneca, Sabetha, Atwood and Saint Francis among them — strung along one of the great east-west routes across the High Plains.
This is open prairie country, and the sales reflect it: genuine farm and ranch tools, vintage advertising and hardware, mid-century furniture, and flat-priced estate merchandise from towns where goods have never circulated through a city antique mall. The catchment is enormous and the distances are real, so most shoppers pick a stretch — the eastern counties around Seneca, Sabetha and Marysville, or the western run through Phillipsburg, Atwood and Saint Francis — rather than trying to cover all 400 miles in three days.
The catch every year is that there is no single official list. Each participating town publishes its own map, and the organizers link them county by county — so planning a drive has meant opening a dozen separate maps and copying addresses by hand. We pull all seventeen town maps into one place: every posted sale on the corridor, with the seller's items and open hours where the town published them, on a single map you can order into a sensible driving route. Belleville and Marysville both make practical bases for the busy middle counties. Sales open early and the route is well signed.

That means a shopper planning a drive normally has to open a dozen separate town maps. The town maps keep filling in the days before the event, and this page refreshes as they do.
Saint Francis, Phillipsburg, Belleville, Marysville, Seneca and Atwood consistently post the largest lists, and Belleville has a multi-seller building where a dozen sellers set up at one address. The smallest towns may post only a handful of stops — but those are often where the flat-priced farm and estate merchandise turns up.
The US-36 Treasure Hunt runs every September on the third Thursday through Saturday. The 2027 dates will be confirmed by the organizers in early 2027; we'll update this page when they post.
