It starts at Grimes on the Des Moines side and runs west through Perry, Coon Rapids, Manning, and Denison, out to Mapleton and Sloan near the Missouri River. Two days of small-town garage sales, driveway setups, and yard sales strung along one highway as it crosses the farm country of the Raccoon and Boyer river valleys.
It is a towns-only event with more than 20 years behind it — 22 communities along the route, and around 350 registered sales in a typical year. Each town organizes its own sales, and the individual addresses are now posting town by town: the map above shows the sales mapped so far, still filling toward the weekend as more towns publish their lists.
