The Highway 21 Treasure Hunt runs through central North Dakota every third weekend of June, following ND Highway 21 through the Missouri River country between Linton and the communities of Emmons, Logan, and McIntosh counties. The corridor covers roughly 100 miles of some of the most rural territory in the Great Plains — the kind of region where a garage sale can draw buyers from 100 miles away.
North Dakota's sale culture is shaped by farm consolidation and rural depopulation — families clearing out homesteads and farmsteads that have been in place for generations. That means authentic prairie finds: vintage farm machinery, old grain elevator items, Northern Plains homestead goods, and the mid-century household pieces that never reached an antique dealer. Prices stay low because there's little regional dealer pressure.
The event organizes through Facebook, where registered seller addresses are posted before the weekend. Central North Dakota doesn't get many large organized sale events — this one fills that gap for the region.
The 127 corridor runs through these anchor cities. Drive any segment, or the whole route — most folks pick a state and work their way through it.
