For one day each August, US Route 11 — the Old Valley Pike — becomes a 43-mile string of yard sales down the heart of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. The Route 11 Yard Crawl runs through Shenandoah County from Stephens City in the north to New Market in the south, following the historic pike that shadows Interstate 81 past farms, small towns, and Civil War ground. Sales spill out of front yards, church lots, town parks, and antique shops in the valley towns along the way, and the whole thing packs into a single Saturday.

The Valley has deep antique and primitive-country roots, and the goods show it: farm primitives and cast iron, old tools, country furniture, glassware and stoneware, quilts and linens, and the Civil War and Americana odds and ends that turn up where families have worked the same valley land for generations. Strasburg and Woodstock — both known for their antique shops — make natural mid-route hubs, and Edinburg and Mount Jackson round out the southern stretch toward New Market.

Because it is a one-day event on a compact 43-mile corridor that parallels I-81, the Route 11 Yard Crawl is one of the more drivable named sales on the calendar — you can realistically work the whole pike in a day. Most sellers are set up by mid-morning. Start at one end and head straight down the Valley, using I-81 to jump ahead when a stretch thins out.

FAQ

When is the Route 11 Yard Crawl 2027?

Saturday, August 14, 2027 — a one-day event. Most sellers are set up by mid-morning and run through the afternoon; some open early for the first shoppers down the pike.

Where does the Route 11 Yard Crawl take place?

Along US Route 11, the Old Valley Pike, through Shenandoah County in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley — about 43 miles from Stephens City in the north (near I-81 Exit 307) to New Market in the south (Exit 264), running parallel to Interstate 81 the whole way. The map above pins each anchor town.

What towns are on the route?

From north to south the pike runs through Stephens City, Middletown, Strasburg, Toms Brook, Woodstock, Edinburg, Mount Jackson, and New Market — eight Shenandoah Valley towns. Because it parallels I-81, you can jump ahead on the interstate to skip a quiet stretch.

Is there a central seller list?

There is no single published vendor registry for the crawl — sales are run by the towns and individual property owners along the pike. Strasburg and Woodstock town offices can answer local questions. MapMySales pulls the individual listings we can find into one map so you can see the whole corridor and plan how to drive it.

When does next year's Route 11 Yard Crawl happen?

It runs every year on the second Saturday of August. The 2028 date will follow the same pattern; we'll update this page when it's confirmed.
